The story of the Lizard and Scorpion.
Have you ever heard the story about the lizard and the scorpion? Probably not because it is one I just made. One of my students brought in a scorpion as a class pet, and when he did, there was another animal in the cage: A cute little lizard. I believe it was a gecko but this was essentially scorpion food. Many of my 3rd graders thought it was a cage with 2 pets...In that a lot of my teacher friends liked the lizard more and felt so bad for it. So after a lot of 3rd graders feeling sad for it, and a team of 3rd grade teachers wanting the lizard to be freed, I eventually freed it.
